How do you define an ADU?
An ADU is an "Accessory Dwelling Unit”.
A secondary, self-contained housing unit located on the same property as a single-family home. ADUs can come in various forms, such as a basement apartment, a converted garage, a separate cottage, or an addition to the main house. They are typically used for rental purposes or to provide additional living space for family members, like aging parents or adult children.
In order to qualify as an ADU, the building must have:
a kitchen with a sink, countertop, cooking appliances, and a space for a refrigerator
a full bath with toilet, sink, and shower
